We are an independent advice, information and support service for parents/carers of children with special educational needs.

Wakefield Parent Partnership Service help by:
listening to parents’ views and concerns about their children’s educational needs
helping parents to express their views by:
 
supporting them in preparing for and attending meetings
assisting with filling in forms and writing letters/reports
giving access to a parent/voluntary sector/LEA forum

Wakefield Parent Partnership Service offer:
impartial information and advice
guidance through the SEN processes and procedures
links with voluntary and self-help groups
access to an Independent Parental Supporter
help with resolving disputes
access to a mediation service

We aim to develop partnerships between parents, schools, the local education authority and voluntary groups for the benefit of all children with special educational needs. We aim to give parents a voice so that their views are taken into consideration in the planning and delivery of services.
